Current ways of building AI-powered products need many specialists and long time, which adds to high cost. Only 10% of companies are implementing AI at scale, while 42% of companies lack talent. AI-powered products are complex (e.g. user-facing apps, systems for internal business operations). They are made of AI models, backend services (payment, log in, etc.), user interface (built with frontend frameworks) and infrastructure (cloud, server, etc.). Developing them takes 6-12 months and a team of around 10 specialists, such as Cloud Architects, Data Scientists, Data/ML Engineers, Developers (Frontend, Backend, Mobile), etc.. In addition, making changes for scaling to more users or for adding new features needs re-writing a ton of code. This does not work for small product teams like innovation labs and startups as they need to launch fast with limited resources, and need to make changes often.
