In Kenya, the agricultural sector has been left behind when it comes to technology adoption. Farmers records are stored in paper-based systems and this leads to lack of data on commodity production, pricing and markets. Additionally, agricultural societies lack efficiency and aggregated data to make informed decisions. Consequently, farmers lack an identity and are left un-banked and financially under-served financially as mainstream banking does not have sufficient data to tailor products for them.
